a pink party

She's 3!!!
Happy Birthday Evelynn!!!!!
In honor of our girly girl, we celebrated by having a pink party with some of Evelynn's little friends.

Today, October 27th, is my due date.
I was very much hoping that this baby girl would continue the tradition that Evelynn started of being born on her due date.
But, as it is 8:05pm right now, and I feel zero signs of labor approaching, I am highly doubtful that I will be meeting this girl today.
Which is okay....
1. Because tomorrow is Evelynn's birthday and I would love to be able to totally focus our special Evelynn all day tomorrow. I am excited to have a fun day that is all about Evelynn. I don't have to give my daughter time outs on her birthday, right? Even if she really deserves one? I don't have to???
2. My parent's are here, and we are having a lovely time just hanging out together all day. I have been MISSING them terribly recently, and I am thoroughly enjoying their company. And, I am very aware that as soon as this baby arrives, there won't be as many mid-day board games or leisurely walks down Main Street.
3. Above all, I am extremely grateful that this baby is healthy and still squirming around in my tummy. And if she needs a few more days, than I am happy to incubate her until the perfect timing.

And now, here is the beautiful birthday girl:

I am 5 days away from my due date!
In about one week (give or take a few days!) I will become a Mommy to 2 little girls.
For a while, this transition scared me, but now....I am just ready and excited for the challenge.
When we were pregnant with Evelynn, I was really hoping she would be a girl, and I found myself wanting another girl this time as well. So, I am very excited to get to birth and raise another girl.
I am also so excited for Evelynn to have a sister and a little buddy to play with!
I am ready to have this baby in my arms instead of nudging and kicking my tummy all day.
I am ready to cuddle my husband at night instead of the 3 pillows tucked strategically around my body.
But, in the meantime...I am enjoying these last moments where I can completely focus on Evelynn. I love this daughter of mine more than I ever knew was possible. She is beautiful and smart and creative and funny and challenging and she makes my life fuller and richer.

This is Evelynn's favorite letter....."E for Evelynn!"

A beautiful day called for a tea party with all of Evelynn's favorite dollies. She loves playing with her dolls these days. She dresses them up, cuddles them, puts them to sleep, gives them shoulder rides and rocks them when they cry. I think she's going to be an awesome big sister! =)

33 weeks

I am 33 weeks pregnant now.
And this little girl is growing by the day!
She never fails to let me know that she is quite cramped up in this tummy.
I still feel great, and we are getting so excited to add this next member to our little family!
Oh, and little girl: you can come early if you want =)

camping!

The three of us went to a nearby campground for a couple of nights last week.
We had such a great time!
Evelynn was a great little camper and she even slept good; which I was not expecting.
She loved the tent, the s'mores, the campfire, Daddy playing his guitar, the lake, peeing in the bushes =), exploring and hiking.
She did not like getting dirty....which is inevitable when you are camping....so we definitely had some whines about that. But, thankfully, the fun usually outweighed the dirt.

This is our proof that we actually woke up before Evelynn! This rarely happens.

Sweet Evelynn...

I love how you say "Raisin Brown" for Raisin Bran, and how you have to have at least one raisin for every bite (of course!)
I love that you have crazy whispy blonde hair framing your face.....just like me =)
I love that you just learned to say the letter "R" and it takes a lot of effort every time you use it...my favorite is when you say "green grapes" with emphasis on the "r"s.
I love that you can't quite match up the kissy noise with your actual kisses.
I love your rad dance moves.
I love when your wrap up pretend presents for me and deliver them from behind your back.

It is the most sweetest sound to hear you sing "God is so good".
I love your fascination with scary monsters.
I love how you notice beautiful details in nature that I overlook all the time.
I love that you cuddle right up, forehead to forehead, every time I put you to bed.
I love when you give me "options" and "choices".
I love that you want to name your baby sister "doo-dee".
I love your love for all kinds of animals and how you call them "amimals".

You are beautiful, special and unique and I love you VERY much.

summer life

A little update in photos:

Here are Evelynn and her cousins waiting at the bus stop.
More little buddies, Violet and London, came out for a visit in the city. I love that Violet is the one with her finger up her nose in this picture.....because usually it's Evelynn.

Evelynn and her friend Christain exploring our neighborhood. We are so thankful that Evelynn has such good friends around her!

We took Evelynn to a Canadians Baseball game and it was so fun! Evelynn and I didn't care so much about the actual baseball game, but all of the other things made it really entertaining.
I love my girl!

Static! This particular day, Evelynn's hair was standing up more than usual. She LOVES jumping on Nani and Papa's trampoline!

Feeding the pigeons on Granville Island...they were eating right out of her hand!
