Who knew oranges could be so much fun?
Last Saturday morning, we headed out to Stanley Park for a rainy day forrest adventure. It was the perfect morning - My three favorite people, good attitudes had by all, a game of forrest hide and seek, plenty of nature treasures were found, the hollow tree, discussions about how amazing God's creation is, chips- which just make everyone happy, and finally a stop to get hot chocolate to warm up our cold bodies.
I love when he fills our home with music. He is so talented.
This pretty much sums up what every single meal looks like in our home right now. Maisy is determined to feed herself, and it is messy. She is slowly getting the hang of using a spoon and actually getting food into her mouth. Until then, she will require baths every day.
This girl is still loving dresses and "accessories". She loves to wear her most fancy dresses and shoes every day, and recently she tells me that she needs to go, "accessorize".
Not sure who loved this paint-by-number more....me or her....
Family bowling night! Note to self: do not bother paying for maisy to bowl next time.....definitely not worth the money. But, want to see something cute? Put a toddler in bowling shoes.
Evelynn is getting so good at reading and writing. I am so proud of her! This particular note that she wrote all by herself says, "we love mommy", which of course made my day.
Cousins! We love these guys so much.
I often find Maisy up on this stool eating whatever is within reach. Ah! Good thing she is so cute in those pig tails!
Cute little soother-face.
Singing her own song in her amazing imaginary world.
Sometimes lunch just tastes better when it looks funny.
My three babes =)
We have loved our Science World membership (thanks mom & dad!) Both girls love going. On this particular visit, Maisy was mesmerized by this dinosaur.
Is it okay to say that I love being pregnant???
Obviously, I don't love all of it....but this middle part, the glorious second trimester is just the best.
Physically, I feel really good, it's now very obvious that I'm pregnant (as opposed to the awkward first-trimester bump), I can feel the baby moving around, and I feel extra special carrying around this miracle of life =)

Also, if this is the last time that I'm ever pregnant, I am trying to enjoy every day of getting to carry around this baby inside of me.
I know that very soon I will enter the last trimester and I will start to feel more uncomfortable, I will get less sleep, I will have to pee even more, and there are all sorts of other physical changes that I won't mention.....
But for now, I am thoroughly enjoying carrying this little boy. I get to know him and bond with him during these 9 months in such a special way.
I love you, little buddy.
that i get to be a part of this wonderful, loving, unique family,
that i get to live in the most beautiful city,
for slickity jim's $5 breakfast special (evidenced on maisy's cheeks =),
that this baby boy is growing healthy and strong in my tummy,
for these two beautiful girls that call me mamma,
for quiet, sunny moments in the park when i can reflect on how good God is.
When i open my eyes and look, truly look, i am amazed at all that i have to be thankful for.
Last week we went on a hike to Lynn Canyon. We recently bought this back pack baby carrier at a thrift store, and it was just the motivation we needed to get out into the woods. Maisy was not a huge fan of being stuck on Scott's back. She would have much rather been free to explore on her own. But we gave her sticks and leaves to hold, and that seemed to satisfy her curiosity enough.
Getting out into God's beautiful nature was refreshing and necessary for all of us.
