stay-cation!

For Spring break this year, we decided to have a stay-cation. We live in a beautiful city with plenty of things to do, and with little children it can feel intimidating to drive very far in the car. So this seemed like the perfect way to holiday in our own city. Scott took the week off and each morning we gave Evelynn an envelope with the day's activities written on it.

Scott's sister and her family drove in for a sleepover. The kids did not fall asleep until 10pm! But we had a great time with them. The next day we took the bus and then the ferry boat over to the market at Lonsdale Quay and explored on this rainy day.

One morning we headed over to Science World and explored the new Lego exhibit. Scott was the most excited of us all.

We also visited a new wave pool. Leo and I just chilled in the hot tub for a while, which I was just fine with.

One afternoon a friend watched Leo and Maisy and we got to take Evelynn to see the Lego movie.

For dinner, we told Evelynn that we would take the family out to a fancy dinner and she could choose the restaurant. She chose one of her favorites - The Old Spaghetti Factory. We got dressed up, put on some lip gloss and enjoyed some fancy spaghetti. And yes, the pink spanish dancer dress is still one of her most favorite dresses to wear....3 years later....

On the last day of our stay-cation we visited Bloedel Conservatory; a tropical bird habitat in the middle of the city. Yes, the birds and plants and flowers were beautiful, but honestly my favorite part of it was how warm and humid it was. I took off my sweater and tried to pretend that we were in Hawaii for a couple of hours.
